Final Draw Prize Winners’ Stories – 2026
Z. Mooney – Grand Prize #1 — $750,000
Z. Mooney is a Tucson native who was born at TMC and is now married, working and raising his two kids in the area. He’s been entering the TMC Mega Raffle for the last six years, and this is the first year winning a big prize. When he got the call from Kathy informing him he was this year’s $750,000 grand prize winner, he thought it was a prank at first. Then, he recognized Kathy’s voice. As the news was sinking in he said, “The allure of the prizes and knowing where the money goes is why I enter every year, with the outside hope that I may win. I’m in shock.” Mr. Mooney then drove to his wife’s office to share the exciting news in person. The couple is thrilled and now looks forward to taking a special family vacation this summer instead of having to save and wait until next year.
G. Vinall – Grand Prize #2 – $150,000
Mr. Vinall of Tucson was shocked when he got the call from Kathy telling him was this year’s grand prize #2 winner of $150,000. He and his wife enter the TMC Mega Raffle every year. He remembered winning a suitcase one year, but this was beyond unexpected. He said, “My wife and I enter to support TMC. It is the only hospital in the area with a local board that is locally run, so we know the dollars will be used locally.” He participates in the Mega Raffle never anticipating winning. Getting the news was a big surprise.
M. Low – 50/50 Add-On Jackpot — $549,705
M. Low is a Tucson native who works as an MRI Tech. She spent most of her 25-year career with one company, until a little over two years ago, when she was hired at TMC. After working a night shift, she woke up to a missed call and remembered it was the raffle final draw day. She thought, maybe she’d won a car or a trip. When Kathy delivered the news that she was this year’s 50/50 Add-On Jackpot winner and would be splitting $1,099,410 with TMC Health, she was beyond thrilled. She started entering the TMC Mega Raffle after hearing a neighbor won a car in 2013. This year, every time she’d see one of the commercials she’d say, “I’m going to win this year!” It worked! With the Jackpot winnings, Mrs. Low and her husband plan to pay off a few big expenses and help their son with his tuition. Feeling tremendously grateful she said, “This is a real blessing from God.”
E. Nunez – 2026 Audi Q5 Plus $20,000 Cash
E. Nunez entered the TMC Mega Raffle annually and then took a break for a few years. This year, when the mailer arrived, he looked at it and got a feeling he should enter. His mom agreed and told him to do it. It was a reminder that moms always know best and to listen to your gut. The retired Tucson native, who was born at TMC said, “The money goes to a great hospital, and you can’t win if you don’t enter, so take a chance!”
D. Miller – 2026 Ford Explorer Plus $18,000 Cash
D. Miller of Hereford, Arizona, first entered the TMC Mega Raffle years ago when he and his wife were living in Queen Creek. Miller is a flight nurse who drops off patients at TMC from time to time, and he’s also had surgery at TMC. He hadn’t entered the raffle in the past few years. When one of his pilots mentioned that he enters every year, Miller decided to enter again, and he’s very glad he did. After hearing the big news that he’d won the 2026 Ford Explorer and $18,000, he called his wife with the news, and she is already planning to claim the new family car. When Miller was asked why he entered the raffle this year he said, “When you think about it, the odds are better than any lottery or raffle you can enter, and you are donating to a good cause.”
J. Gjurgevich – 2026 Acura ADX Plus $14,000 Cash
J. Gjurgevich was shocked when he got the call learning he’d won the 2026 Acura ADX and $14,000 cash. Mr. Gjurgevich and his wife were high school sweethearts in Bisbee, and their two children were born at TMC. They enter the TMC Mega Raffle every year and laugh saying, “Maybe we will win the 50/50 or something big.” The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Despite their long marriage, when Mr. Gjurgevich shared the news with his wife, she didn’t believe him. The retired couple are now excited to share their news with their grown kids and come up with a fun personalized license plate that honors TMC.
B. Martin – 2026 Chevrolet Equinox RS Plus $13,000 Cash
Another Tucson native who was born at TMC, B. Martin started entering the TMC Mega Raffle seven years ago, often buying tickets with a co-worker. He’s very glad he entered on his own this year. “I’m not sure what we would have done if we won a car.” Winning the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox RS and $13,000 cash will come in handy for the father of two young kids. He said he likes entering the TMC Mega Raffle because the odds are great, “I don’t gamble, but the chance of winning a prize is likely, and if you don’t, just keep entering. I look forward to entering every year.” This year was his year for winning big!
