Portland, Maine

An East Coast escape to Portland, Maine, at the Press Hotel for five days & four nights with air for two, including dinner for two at Union Restaurant, and a private Fall Foliage Sightseeing Tour or private Lighthouse Tour on a Vintage Lobster Boat

In 2012, Portland real estate developer Jim Brady put the building under contract and announced plans to open Portland’s first independent boutique hotel. Aptly named The Press Hotel, it retains virtually all of the building’s architectural details, including its vintage exterior lettering and the newspaper’s “City Room” repurposed as the Inkwell Bar. This unique piece will find a new home in the Fitness Center (naturally). The extensive rehabilitation and adaptive reuse to a boutique hotel was completed and opened to the public in May 2015.  Taking inspiration from 1920s writer’s offices, each of the hotel’s exquisite guest rooms feature a vintage-styled journalist desk, wood floors with herringbone area rug, and 100% local artwork, including a woven wall tapestry by Angela Adams. The historic building boasts oversized windows in every guestroom, providing natural light and fresh Maine air during your stay. Playful newsroom references abound, including thought-provoking quotes and occasional one-liners in the most unexpected places.

Enjoy dinner for two at Chef Josh Berry’s Union Restaurant, part of the Press Hotel and one of Portland’s hottest new restaurants.  Then take on the scenery that attracts people from around North America with your own private fall foliage sightseeing tour, or experience a private lighthouse tour while cruising the coast in a vintage lobster boat.  Depending on the time of year you wish to travel, both are wonderful experiences sure to enhance your northeastern escape.

Your getaway for two includes:

  • Round trip Economy Class Air
  • 5 days/4 nights accommodations at The Press Hotel
  • Dinner for Two at Union Restaurant
  • Private Fall Foliage Sightseeing Tour or Private Lighthouse Tour on a Vintage Lobster Boat
  • Free concierge reservation service
